Meet Bertie
Bertie (full name: Bertie Bloodcell) is Leukaemia CARE’s fundraising mascot and where possible, he goes wherever Leukaemia CARE’s fundraisers go. If you’re a runner then you’re automatically a member of Team Bertie, and in the BUPA Great North Run and even the Flora London Marathon you’re likely to see Bertie crossing the finishing line!
Bertie turns two on April 9th!!!
Would you like to organise a party for him? email fundraising@leukaemiacare.org.uk
Bertie Likes:

Bertie Dislikes:
- Missing out on fun
- Being mistaken for a giant M&M or tomato
- Meeting animals – they tend to be scared of him
- Getting stuck in doorways
Bertie says: “Being a giant bloodcell is hard work but I love having a go at the runs and marathons and meeting all the lovely people who help Leukaemia CARE reach its ultimate goal of being able to help everyone in the UK diagnosed by any kind of blood cancer. Blood cancer is a serious issue but being a giant bloodcell makes it really easy for me to highlight the charity to people who wouldn’t otherwise know we’re here to help. Have a look at our CARE website to see what it is that we do”
